This week on the Block is a spellbinding novel by Suzanne Collins, Mockingjay. This is the third in Collins's Hunger Games series and should not be overlooked. Our hero, Katniss Everdeen, has survived yet another Hunger Games and the Capital wants revenge, both from her making them loose face to their public but also for casting doubts on the validity of the games. Can we say "Revolution?" Threats against her family and district are just the beginning and Katniss is not a happy citizen although a reluctant face of rebellion. Personally, the novel made me feel the emotions of the characters, hate for President Snow, the anger of injustice from District 13, and the heart wrenching pain of Katniss at the unnecessary loss of life. Very powerful and well written. The book will entice you even more than Hunger Games and Catching Fire with the passion and determination of its youth.
Good reading.
